Looking back
I joined ONMO as its first designer, when the product existed but the practice behind it didn't. Two and a half years later, that gap was closed, in the brand, the product, the systems, and the team. The headline numbers behind that work sit on the project overview; what stayed with me was what it took to get there.
Reflection
Taking that on early meant real responsibility, decisions that shaped the brand, the product, and how a whole company organised itself around design. I found working at that pace energising rather than daunting. Priorities shifted constantly, and I came to like that: it meant adapting how we worked as often as we adapted the product itself.
What stayed with me
What stayed with me most was watching that shift happen from the inside: design going from a function that delivered screens to one the business turned to for direction, respected as a partner in decisions that mattered, not consulted after they'd already been made. That's the same instinct that let the business pivot the website's entire strategy mid-project without losing months of work, foundations built for change, not just for launch.
