DESIGN OPS
TEAM BUILDING
I set up the hiring system end-to-end: collaborating with recruiters, writing job descriptions, and defining structured interview stages to evaluate not only skill but collaboration and problem-solving. Once the team was in place, I held monthly 1:1 sessions focused on personal development, mentorship, and long-term career growth.
I introduced design team catch-ups where we shared knowledge around new design trends, tools, and all things design.
Beyond the day-to-day work, I organised regular team events to build stronger connections and create a space where the team could unwind together — whether that was casual lunches, design critiques over coffee, or team outings that helped us step away from screens and connect as people.
To stay agile, I built a freelancer network of five trusted specialists — from copywriters to motion designers — who supported the team on demand and helped us scale delivery during busy cycles.
DESIGN FRAMEWORK
I established Onmo's first design operations framework to give the team clear processes, ownership, and direction. This included defining each stage of the design workflow — from discovery to delivery — and setting clear sign-off responsibilities across design, product, and engineering. I also implemented review checkpoints and cross-functional syncs to ensure everyone was aligned before anything moved into production, creating a smoother, more transparent delivery process across the company.
